Why are my local craigslist prices for PC hardware pants on head fucking retarded? Like on what planet does anyone think it's reasonable to ask $275 for a used GTX 760, or $850 for a full system with an i5 4440 and a 750 ti. Is this only endemic in my local area or is this a nationwide thing?

People are stupid, it's pretty standard for kids to post up their old gaymen PCs for only slightly less than what they bought it for on iBuyPower 3+ years ago.
It's a middle class thing, I'm pretty sure.
you are just as dumb for trying to buy used fucking 'gaming' hardware
buy new or dont buy it at all

GPUs and CPUs are pretty tough, they are normally worth buying secondhand if they are in good condition. Always stress test that shit before you buy.

>REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I am trying to buy any hardware anon. Scouring used hardware is one of the best ways to scrap together functional PCs at a low cost, that you can then flip for profit if you want.

Happens everywhere.
I actually got lucky and bought a i7-470k + gtx970 rig a few years back for $400 and was lightly used bc it was some college kid.
And then one of my retarded peers has a rig with nearly identical specs and wants $1000 absolute minimum for it (and is selling it because it shuts off randomly)

>$275 for a used GTX 760
top lel
>be me
>used gtx 760 for sale
>comes with the original box and even the cables they give you new and unopened
>in pretty much top notch condition
>price it at $100 (this is discount canadian dollars too)
>a never ending parade of faggots emailing with "take 60 for it?"
I'll just fucking keep it.
Pittsburgh Craigslist is also pretty stupid tier on prices.
