>bought by facebook for an exorbitant price, benefactors of this sale gtfo asap
>decent launch sales, post-launch sales were abysmal
>htc vive is kicking its shit in left and right saleswise and techwise
>vive has the support of valve and gaymers, rift has the support of facebook and kickstarter holdouts
> terrible DRM practices introduced that alienated most of the customer base that remained
>incoming lawsuit by a company filled with sleazy lawyers, actually appears to have a solid claim as Carmack has stolen code and hardware many times in the past (read masters of doom). Even if false it drags the oculus brand through the mud once more.
Is the Oculus shaping up to be the biggest flop in videogame history? Does Facebook wish they never adopted this blunder?

No.
It's works very well for sim racing, or any other cockpit game where you sit in the game.

And since you're sitting anyways, you don't need all that additional Vive room tracking shit that only adds to the price.
From what I'm reading Oculus actually has better image quality than Vive, and in simulation games that's literally all that matters.
Also VR porn

>VR porn
Experience this yourself yet anon?
>>56230143
No.
We have a Oculus setup in school, I'd probably get kicked out if I was caught jacking off.
Can't imagine why it wouldn't be better than regular porn.

What? I'm considering buying an oculus and now I'm worried. What does it's DRM do?
>>56231495
Tries to restricts you to the Oculus store for using newer gaymes. Someone made a workaround and it was patched within a day, so they are pretty committed to this garbage.
>>56231529
Vive it is then. Shame, because oculus is both cheaper and comfier.
>>56231529
What if you have your games on Steam? You have to buy them 2nd time?
>>56231560
Do research yourself instead of listening to htc shills: they removed the DRM.
VR as a whole is a flop. The gaming aspect immediately fell flat since someone forgot to tell them about the concept of launch titles so now they're trying to market it as a training/simulation machine.

I have both systems, well all 3 actually. The porn is amazing..I now have a VR porn dedicated drive..250gb and climbing..lol.
And fllight and racing games are amazing..never will use monitors again for them.

Unless you're referring to something more recent, it was the other way around.
They were restricting the games on the Oculus store so that Vive users could not play them, they have since removed that restriction.
Bought an Oculus CV1 2 months ago. Why?
>1: I don't have enough space in my room for roomscale so thats out of the question
>2: Setting up two cameras that look like webcams from 2008 just to have a VR experience is retarded
>3: The Rift's special lenses might cause some "godrays" but you can't see individual pixels, unlike the vive, which would take me out of the immersion and be a dealbreaker for me
>4: I won't be spending 800$ on hardware that still looks like a devkit. Design is very important to me and the CV1 looks amazing
>5: The Rift is almost as light as a baseball cap and has ruggid head mounting, meaning it doesn't put much stress on your head and face, which is important for immersion, atleast to me.
Would I say it was a good choice?
>In short yes. I like the product and it does its job very well while looking sleek. There's alot of games and that library will expand, once the motion controllers come out, so that all the vive games can be ported over.
>inb4 butthurt "hurr durr but iz facebok" faggots try to defend the vive.
