My i5 750 has single core clock of 3.2GHz and my 2.6GHz (it's actually 2.5GHz 99% of the time but 2.6 is theoretical max turbo) Haswell out performs it in single core load.

Lynnfield is weak as fuck compared to modern Intel CPUs. In fact, I'd love to see how bad they do in CPU-Z Bench. I believe it's even worse than I imagine.

I am talking about single core performance. I know it might come as a surprise, but processor technology has actually advanced in the last 7 years. I have an i5 750. I wish I could bench it to show you just how bad it is, but I don't have the PSU or cooler for it.

I'm not saying it chokes, I'm saying it's weak compared to modern processors. The reason I bought a chip which has only marginally better single thread performance than an i7 870 on average is because I did not experience a need for more while using an i5 750. I downgraded my full load clock from 2.8GHz to 2.3 GHz, but changed architecture from lynnfield to Haswell and because of that it still performs better in single core workload. Significantly so in some specific workloads.

My wifi has yet to ever die on me, but I agree on the mouse/trackpad. The trackpad is almost unusable with the enhanced pointer precision, which is absolutely needed for the mouse. As for the the utilities, I just removed them on day one, anyways. Battery could be a bit more impressive, tho.
