They won't die because normies click on anything. Of course, an antivirus is a placebo for any serious infection, because it's so trivial to beat them. I can hook my modified ZueS into an exe and it passed every single VirusTotal test.

I loved some of the older Kaspersky UI.

It's difficult to say because it helps normies that actually do fall into obvious traps but if someone actually had malicious intent towards you, you're fucked with one.
