I'm trying to install a new OS on my server but for some reason it won't boot from the USB drive even though I've verified that it boots from literally every other computer I own
It's a HP DL380 G5
Many servers will refuse to boot from the frontal USBs. Try the ports on the back, or just use a disc

I've tried literally every port
I bet burning a DVD would just werk, though I hate wasting a DVD for a one time install

Update the BIOS if you can.
Reset BIOS to defaults
The DL380 G5 boots just fine off of the front USB ports.

I've reset the fucking thing 4 times and it still won't boot from it

Jesus christ, you sound like my friend.
me:"I'll burn it for you on CD if you want"
him:"But it has only 2 MB!!"
me:"So?"
him:"The CD has 700MB space!!"
me:"the CD is $0.30ish, I don't give a fuck"
him:"B-B-B-BUUUT!!!"
Just fucking burn a DVD and get over it.

the problem is I don't have any DVD's on hand
I don't really mind buying some if it's the only way to get it to work
I have installed things just fine off USB drives before
