What you are looking for is RGH. Requires a modchip (coolrunner tx clone from ebay is 8 buckaroos and eorks like a charm). Depending on dash and whether the xbox is phat or slim you can do rgh 1/1.2/2.0. You will also need a programmer for the chip. Your options are parralel port (cheap but unreliable), matrix spi (2-3$ + parts but requires modification) or jr programmer (30$). Also, if you've got no soldering experience don't do it. The whole process is a nightmare.
