Confused on Allo. Could anyone clear this up for me?
Is Allo Jewgles attempt at an iMessage? Or is it just a sms app with a few different Google features?

They're claiming that it's encrypted so I would assume it's going through data. Unless there's a way to encrypt sms which I'm not aware of.

From what I heard on various articles and Google's conference you'll also be able to use it for sms. It chooses for you based on the sender/receiver. So for instance, if someone texts you and that's your default sms app they'll receive a text from you when you reply. If they also have allo then they will receive a data sent message when you reply. I could be wrong about this but that's what I've read so far.
