Picked up a cheap TV second hand an low and behold is has a fault. There is a very faint but noticeable black horizontal line across the bottom of the TV, taking up about a quarter of the screen. Anything below this point is very slightly darker than the rest of the screen. Have checked capacitors on all boards and they are in good shape. Could be a possible fault on the inverter board? So far that's the only conclusion I've found after some research. Is there anything else it could be? The LCD screen seems to be fine, could be wrong though.

Might be a collumn driver issue, check if the wires going out to the side from one of the chops on the board on the side correspond to the darkened area.
>>
Wait, wrong, it might actually be the backlight, see Board on right side of Image.

It seem like it would have something to do with the board on the right hand side, as the darkened area aligns with the white connectors on the board. As in, the two furthest away from the picture correspond to where the horizontal black line begins. Could try a replacement board, aren't too expensive about £20, but want to make sure before ordering it of course.

Oh and I have checked all connection wires between the boards and made sure they are firmly connected and made no change.

Now have a look, if those transformers are somehow wired up
in groups of two (using common traces, or traces meting at the same Component),
if they do, have a look for errors there.

The board has no solder points on the other side making repairs very difficult for someone not very skilled like myself. I can't see anything personally bit I don't have the eyes for it. Here's a picture of that helps at all

Actually, this (SMD) makes it easier quite some times,
but yes, they are wired in parallel (together).
>>
>>56208304
Check resistance between different pins on the transformer, compare your readings to one of the working ones. (The TV of course needs to be off when you're doing this!)
>>
>>56208352
To be more precise, check the resistance between the pins in the middle, and the pins on the right.
>>
>>56208379
After that move on to the pins on the top.
>>
>>56208332
Have to correct myself, they are wired in series.

Thanks for the advice, but I don't really know how to do this. Could you perhaps Photoshop the picture I posted of the board indicating which pins I should test? I have a multimeter but I don't really know what im doing lol

>>56208450
Just go to /diy/, they will help.
See sticky.

Already posted in /diy/ they said it could be something else entirely. The only thing I've notice which seems a little off is this capacitor, when testing across it with DC 2V it doesn't slowly discharge like some of the other capacitors but the white stuff looks more like glue than a leak.

Bumping bump

>>56208552
is silicone
>>
>>56208552
nothing wrong with that
>>

Yeah that glue stuff is just used to hold things in place.
