It really depends on which phone you buy. Back then, if it wasn't a Samsung flagship or a Nexus, you were simply playing a game and hoping to luck out.

Luckily, shits a lot different now. Sony phones suck, Samsung dies monthly updates, Chinese OEMs are releasing great phones, and iPhones are ugly.
