This will likely seem like b8, but it's a serious question.
I'm a film maker and have been contracted to make a film that is about the behind the scenes Hactivism with the Arab Spring.
Instead of putting a bunch of bull shit graphics and code together like most filmmakers do today I would prefer to have something closer to what Mr. Robot is. Problem is that I don't have the budget to hire a technology consultant, and know very little about computer systems. Can you guys point me in the right direction of some useful resources that may be able to help?

You would be better served spending your time finding investors (probably arts-based non-profits and educational institutions, tbqh) whose money would allow you to hire a technology advisor.

Don't, Mr. Robot's tech references "oh dude what distro lol I prefer KDE" bullshit was cringey.

Here I'll dump some .gif's that'll help you create a more realistic hacking experience.

If you want to go for historic accuracy then read the files Snowden leaked, specially the parts where social media manipulation tools are talked about. Those were the ones used to incite those Arab Spring coups
