I have to make little apps for my IT class using MIT's App Inventor. What are your thoughts on this kind of stuff /g/. I had to use Scratch as well in the class and from my experience it just doesn't feel like coding.

I did the exact same thing at UM-Flint. Had to go make some compass thing that used the accelerometer. (In Scratch we had to make a decimal->binary converter).
It's a weed class. It makes people who can't understand basic logic stop and say "Hey, maybe CS isn't the thing for me." Just power through it. Then you get to learn C++, and that's actually fun.
Looks kinda cool desu, our introduction was with some shitty droid which followed UP, DOWN, ... and loops
