I figure this is the right board to ask this question.
I'm a pleb currently learning python in an online class and I have decided that I would like to learn more languages for career purposes. After graduation, I plan to work in environmental engineering. To help me get a job, I am considering learning Java and C or C++.
Do you have any suggestions of what would be the best languages to learn to help me in the environmental engineering firms, or at least some reading material to determine what would be the best languages to teach myself? Also, what is the most effective way of teaching myself how to code? Should I buy a "How to Code" manual off Amazon?
Are any of you faggots going to help me?

Look into what programming languages are use in environmental engineering, also don't expect to be spoonfed. The most important character traits programmers have is self-reliance and creativity. If you can't find the answers to your questions yourself, you might want to look into common sense 101 first.
