Well how do you fix that shit? Also have a folder like this :/
>>56178328
Install gentoo.
>>56178383
Rename it with a live boot linux
shorten the name of the folder(s) before the file
>>56178383
Use CMD to rename it.
>Windows just werks
let me guess:
- you got a long-ass name.zip
- you extracted to "long-ass name"
- the archive already contained a folder with a long-ass name and filenames
- you extracted the stuff in a path that already had a long-ass name
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/265769/maximum-filename-length-in-ntfs-windows-xp-and-windows-vista
You can fix all that by installing Symbian with XFCE.
>>56178356
NTFS supports up to 30k+ characters long filenames
The Win32 API si what's limited to 255 characters, it's a limitation spawning from the early Win3.x days

Just use 7z file manager, rename folders, and it's done.
Normie.
Linux suffers from the same issue, but to a longer extent. It's due to the kernel, the FS, and userspace programs all having different limits on filename/path length.
