It runs Oxygen OS, which is an in-house custom ROM of Android. Samsung also runs an in-house custom ROM of Android, yet still just calls it Android despite being heavily modified. Nonetheless, it is trivial to get other Android ROMs on a Oneplus 3, while this is not so true for most of Samsung's phones.

Phone shouldn't even cost $600, let alone the current price it is at. What the fuck Samsung.. constantly throwing in the best hardware, yet not taking advantage of that hardware with shitty UI and piss poor optimization. The novelties on these phones wear off quickly.

Ditched the Samsung brand after dealing with this shit since the S3 and got a 5X for around $300 USD.

I think the 5X was a great phone for its price point last year but it's not really up to the standards of a 2016 flagship phone. Performance is very inconsistent since it only has a Qualcomm 808 and the battery is just awful. It has quite a few strong points such as the screen color accuracy, software experience, and camera (for its price) but it's also missing quite a few of the flagship features. You might not care about waterproofing, s-pen, metal build quality, iris scanning, or an actual decent battery but it's obvious from the reaction to the phone that those things are important to quite a few people.
