I have 2 HDDs in 1 computer.
I want them to never 'see' each other. (be active at the same time).
How do I do this without plugging in and out them each time I need to change which one I'm using?
Turning them off in bios is not good.

cmd -> diskpart -> listdisk -> sleect disk # -> offline disk #

wouldn't that require them to be on at the same time at some point? and would it let me switch between them every time I turn PC on?

Why would you want that?

Depends on what you want to do with them... I think is even better have full control of the disk with the online/offline command that a raw startup disconnection...

Encrypt them both.
Only decrypt one at a time.
Not exactly the same but processes on one HDD can never read data from the other.

I'm not really doing much admin work,
I just want to seprate contaminated disk I got to work on from the one I use everyday so raw diconnection is good, I'm just tired of having to clean my PC every week because the case has to be open.
Look up SATA switches. You can build or buy them. They let you easily choose which drives get power prior to startup.

I did google this and it's exactly what I thought about! Thanks, could you recommend any cheap one, please?

Oh, they'll never find it on a hard drive that's turned off! Good thinking OP.

Best method, completely undetectable.
Switch on the power cable, well it's also a good way to fuck up your shit.

Delete your CP and get therapy.
