Cantenna, how the fuck it works?
From what I've seen it is used only on the host end. But how can a two-directional communication be improved if only one side is sending directional waves?

There's a thread for stupid shit like this
By making it directional ?
Think of light source.
With reflector, you can "aim" the light further.
Turn off the light, and scattered light will be "collected" by reflector at focus point.
There is also google

i also asked /g/ one time and they said that it just works, i never get explanation for it.
its rather for blocking out other networks
routers are mostly good at dealing with a crowded spectrum, your 2$ built in laptop adapter isnt

problem with signal in your typical modern enviroment is not that device can't hear signal, it's interference
so
>while it sends signal, it aims entire signal power in single direction, so it's stronger signal for router to hear
>while it recieves signal, it blocks other signals from any other direction than router direction, so noise floor is significantly lower
can i make one and point down 2 blocks at mcdolan and have free internets?

just use a pringles can

it's probably worth a shot, but floor is usually full of metal bars and it murders the signal
you can also try to aim it somewhere below you through the window. maybe signal will come through window and bounce against something
but
>using public wifi where any retard can sniff packets for your home network
please
