What sort of connection problems would make it such so that I only see bots online when I attempt to play Netrek? My apologies for bringing up games.
I've confirmed that my router isn't blocking any ports to my computer.

When connecting to a server, you get all the server info. Seeing the NPCs, but not the players smells like game client issues, not an internet connection issue.
