/guts/ for the Mini ITX master race.
Whats the best case out there and what will be in your next build?
I can't imagine building anything else soon as i just finished my MicroATX build with water-cooled GTX 1080.

I have one of these little cases. Solid little thing, was fun to build in, but FUCK IF ITX ISN'T EXPENSIVE.
If you really need something tiny it's decent but mATX is so much cheaper most of the time.
>>56147469
>4700 bucks
whew
>>56147497
>itx
>expensive
if you want a super nice premium itx case then yes, but there are cheap ugly ones that are functionally as good.
the motherboards themselves are the same price
Not mini ITX but micro atx case with a weird hybrid board
Dimensions of a mini Itx but with two pci slots instead of one
Getting a new micro atx mobo soon, along with another 16gb of ram, and a bunch of hdd's, a new thermaltake TR2-600w PSU and Some 80mm fans
>>56147724
And this is just because I either killed the PSU or motherboard on accident and I don't know how to test either.
Which isn't a big deal, it's a 40$ biostar board and a used 30$ psu
>>56147394
>Whats the best case out there
A full-size ATX case.
>what will be in your next build?
actual components
sorry i suck cocks and didn't update after i got rid of my RAID card. shit was slower that the motherboard's software RAID.
actually US $4564.41.
Upgraded from R9 290X with waterblock and backplate just recently. From 1440p@60Hz to Ultrawide 1440p@100Hz.
>>56147394
itx with custom waterloop. the gpu in the pic is old and doesnt work anymore. i got a 1070 to replace it.
actually the whole idea i had was to seprate the heat/noise parts from the workign components. i piped the tubes into a radiator in a different room.
personally my fav itx case is the ncase m1. it has a fantastic design and is tiny as fuck, but i cant use it cos its too small lol

>>56147712
This.
My ITX case cost $40
>>56147756
>A full-size ATX case.
>>56147394
i used full size power supply
tighter than a virgin's pussy lmao
Fractal Design Define Nano S is an absolute joy to work with, but if you are after a very compact build it won't be fore you.
Low quality pic
I kind of want to build in an ncase m1. Haven't ever really done a tiny itx rig before though. It seems like just having intake from the fans on a 240mm rad maintains positive atmosphere in the case and a blower card is the standard build. Do builds like this have heating issues? I don't want to melt components in summer.
What motherboard size does the terminator use? This thing looks like a pci-e interface.
i have a meme case with LED swastikas on it
>>56151009
mini-TX, at least in the third movie
>>56151139
Thank you.
I want to eventually put a computer in a fake skull.
What's the best small form-factor gpu around? I'm cautious about the 460, and I'm not a big fan of Nvidia.
>>56151094
post pics
>>56151363
gigabyte has a 223mm 6GB 1060
and i think a 1070
unless you meant low profile as in half slot height
Nano-S is the best case out for Mini ITX. No other case can take it on for the price, NCase or Dans Case would be good but they are 5x the price or more.
It's alright, camera really needs to be cleaned.
>>56151215
Laptop or iPad/Surface guts in a to scale human head would be doable for now, until something like mini dx or whatever its called (its 5x5) becomes popular and has integraded gtx 1080's or has a pci-e slot.
>>56155576
Wtf are you cooling with the radiator on the back?
>>56155586
I'd say its for the fury x he has. I thought it was a rx 480 until i seen the rad
>>56155595
That would be correct.
>>56150220
>26L volume
Whew thats hueg for an itx case
>>56155619
It's huge for ITX but its so nice. I thought it was going to be a big case but then I got it and it's fucking tiny. It's the best of both worlds to be honest and I like it.
>>56150893
All itx will have heating issues without waterloop, but desu itx and watercoolig is a perfect marriage
>>56155635
>All itx will have heating issues without waterloop
Bullshit
>>56155655
Kind of bullshit, Depends on what you shove, how much heat it produces, size of your case and how it's cooled. Any case can have heating issues you just need to fiddle around with cooling a bit more in some ITX cases like the SG13, dans case, ncase, etc. those tiny mini itx cases would be harder to cool but not impossible.
>>56155629
26l is far from tiny, its an matx case
20l is smallish, <16l is tiny.
>>56155655
Ok its an exaggeration, it depends on your components and whether you oc.
But an itx will have a BIG impact on you temps
>>56155683
I mean it's tiny compared to an ATX case. Theres nothing wrong with the Nano S, it's perfectly sized for what it is, It could be smaller but why would you sacrifice space in this case? Of course the dans/ncase has made this case irrelevant space wise and doing watercooling etc but I think the Nano S is comfy to build in, I don't need tiny hands to work on it and route cables etc.
>>56155703
>an itx will have a BIG impact on you temps
Yeah, my ITX shitposting machine is running so hot right now.coretemp-isa-0000
Adapter: ISA adapter
Physical id 0: +32.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)

Core 1: +30.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
>>56147394
aw ye masterrace
>>56155728
Try runnin something thatll produce heat idling is fucking nothign
>>56155738
Every time I see this case I change my mind on whether I think it looks cool or horrible
>>56155785
Its horrible
>>56155785
you'll do the same thing if you buy it. so take my advice and
>DONT
>>56155816
Don't worry, I'd never actually buy one. Got no space on my desk for gimmicks.
>>56155750
Tried compiling some shit and this is the highest it got. This is with the stock cooler.coretemp-isa-0000

>>56155825
thats where you and I are different
>>56155816
>overpriced
>full atx size for m itx only
>no airflow management
>ugly
this is like apple money making level
>>56155843
why does everyone get sore ass about airflow with open cases?
How do you guys fix a case that mounts the motherboard upside down? Does it bother you? Do you ignore it?
>>56155832
What are you running
>>56155894
Wut
What case mounts the mb upside down?
>>56147469
that case cable management was a nightmare
i have to remove the power button logic board to slip the power cable through the back
>>56155908
Some small cases and this case I'm looking at.
>>56155708
Its too big for an itx case. The mitx form is about being tiny as fuck.
If youre not trying to cram everything into small a space as you can without significantly impactinf performance, why choose itx?
>>56155972
I like the size of the case, perfect fit for my desk space.
>>56155892
>air exits everywhere
this is like no case at all
non-existent airflow management kek
>>56156047
thats the point. why would it need to be managed
>>56156054
the same reason why there's a fan directly on the cpu heatsink
it's more efficient
>>56156068
but I have 20C temperature headroom. i dont need that efficiency
>>56156106
then save your money and use a pizza box instead xD
i do care about efficiency
>>56149994
And my case was 15 and I don't need to struggle to stuff things inside
The it meme has gone too far
>>56155553
yea, it's up there, with the core 500 right behind it, only because of the hard limit of the 160mm psu limit for modular cabling
>>56156127
160mm psu is a decent size. I have the rm650i which is 160mm and it suits it fine.
>>56156122
this meme needs to be pushed further xD
or just make laptops with pcie x 16
What do you guys think of this 500w ayylmao?
>>56156232
literally shorter than my penis
Cable management is a meme right?
>>56156352
cable management is a zen artform
>>56156410
I've always been more of a nihilist
>>56155944
>>>56155908
>Some small cases and this case I'm looking at.
And he never actually mentioned the case he's looking at.
>>56156410
Its mostly a meme for itx.
all small cases have no real cable management. Its literally tie them all up and shove them to one side
Is Lian-Li still considered good? Thinking about purchasing the PC-Q10.
>>56156140
it's more a heads up than anything else, people that got psu's before making the jump to itx might have bigger psu's than 160mm
>>56156493
>Is Lian-Li still considered good?
They are and always have been overprice trash.
>>56156485
Honestly a modern pc doesn't have many internal cables at all. You use an M.2 for storage and a modular PSU it's not hard to have a neat interior even in a tiny fucking case.
>>56156493
its still good but a lot of cheaper manufactures have stepped up their game
>>56156562
Fans? Most pcs have about 3 or 4
2 from mobo, of which 1 is a 20+ pin
Gpu up to 2 per board
Sata = 1 for every dd, sure msata helps this but most itx have one port max
>>56156613
+usb 3 +front cables
>>56147469
> Bluetooth audio
are you serious?
>>56156562
Usb header, led cables, fan cables, for cpu and mobo, super thicc power cables, it all adds up fast
>>56156781
Nothing cable ties and proper cable origami can't fix
>>56156493
For a mid / full size tower Lian Li is great.
For Mini ITX Lian Li is overshadowed by cheaper brands. Read the amazon reviews of the pc-q10.
>Hey it's aluminum
>It can do fit a GPU
>but only if you don't have a 3.5" HDD
>It's aluminum!
>if you want both too bad
>also the aluminum is really thin
>But it's aluminum! Not steel!
>but it's a great case I swear, just ignore all the shortcomings of this $120 case and it's as good as $40 cases elsewhere.
>did I mention aluminum?
>>56150217
What case is that anon ? Never seen a semon demon with that tight of a pussy.
>>56150217
I'm curious to know what kind of case that is.
>>56147832
i have to ask, how are the tubes going to be getting out of the case? between the rear i/o and the psu with small bulkhead/pass-through fittings, or some where else?
i was thinking of getting the cm elite 130 and doing something similar, and where the hell is your psu?
>>56147724
i think the word you're looking for is DTX, where you have 2 pci slots
