I want to be either a network/sys/database admin, a network architect, or work cybersecurity (something like a security analyst). should I get a cybersecurity degree, an information security degree, or something else?

OP here. I take my Network+ cert exam in a couple weeks and I'm planning on doing security+ in the next year. anything I should study on my own to prepare for a job in that field? I'm only going to college because I need the slip of paper that says I did.
so what would best help get me a job?

Take the meme certs with Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, Security, Voice) then study the basics of all the other vendors (Juniper, Riverbed, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, F5 etc)
Once you've got a grasp, claim you have real world experience in all of the above and apply for jobs.

I'm going for a cyber security degree this September, get certs as well and maybe an internship. Good luck.
