Does anyone have this Thinkpad? I was wondering how good it would be for gamecube emulation. The Thinkpad is t61

Even my T520 with a Nehalem Core i5 was completely inadequate for Dolphin. The Core 2 Duo in that T61 isn't even going to be close.
My new Skylake runs Dolphin great though.

I wouldn't bother unless it's a low-mid tier desktop rig
emulating modern consoles is no joke as far as hardware required goes

A friend offered to sell me his old one for like $50
I fucked with it for a few days and it really isn't worth, unless it's in great condition. His was nasty as fuck, had a dead drive, fan that wouldn't work half the time, etc.. It's just to old of a model to be worth it desu.
Also, as others said above, you need CPU horsepower to do GC emulation. I emulate melee on my laptop with an i7 and it works like a charm, but on my (don't roast me pls) desktop with an AMD FX-4k something or other I get like 10 frames. Netplay isn't even an option on my desktop

I have a T420 with 8 gigs Ram/2.5gz i5/Intel 3000 HD graphics
It can run certain Dolphin 4.0 games, like resident evil remake, but others run like shit (wind waker)

Dolphin 5.0*

That shit looks fucking crappy as hell, literal dinosaur laptop kek

quality bati

I got 15 fps on SSB and ww

On a Celeron integrated
>>56101625
I would not consider that good enough.
>>56101648
Yeah but on a Celeron Chromebook with Ubuntu 14.04 its a great example
This is op. All right thanks for the advice. Are there any good laptops that can run melee on dolphin good at all?

Anything with a sandy bridge i7 or better should be fine.

I got mine for 30 and aside from modern gaming it works great on linux.

Are you sure it's the processor because it ran way better on my computer when I got a better graphics card
>>56102719
Well, obviously the bottleneck varies from system to system. But according to the Dolphin developers it's usually CPU-bound.
