Any good alternatives to these once free programs?
I know a decent alternative to Synergy is Mouse without Borders, though that's a windows only program. The great thing about Synergy is its cross compatible between Linux/Windows/Mac.

Synergy is open source. If you want to use it for free, then compile it yourself.

Synergy is Free as in Freedom, so I paid for it. It is great for interfacing with my Windows 7 VM with a GPU passthrough.

The feature that I want is the ability to play games through it. If you use the cursor in a game, it flies all over the screen. The keyboard works fine though. I just use a USB switch for my mouse when I play a game though.
