does learning Haskell make you a better programmer in terms of your market value?
>>56097731
No.
Haskell is for hobbyists who want to explore better / alternative programming.
Haskell isn't necessarily either of those, but it's a place to start exploring alternative languages.
This will most likely not change your market value.
If it does, it will decrease it.

I have never seen a job offer where Haskell or any other functional language was mentioned. Not even once.

No.
Learn Lisp instead. It also does jack shit for your market value, but it's a better designed and implemented functional paradigm language.
And there's the very, very slim chance that it might help you get a job that involves legacy code or interpreters or some shit.

If there is a meme language it's haskell

Maybe, many claims that learning a functional programming language makes them think different and write better code. For me, learning haskell was a waste of time. If you want to learn functional programming there is way more useful languages out there - nodeJS for example
