So ok the 4chan /g/, is overclocking worth it?
How much of a difference can 500 mhz even make?

went from 3.5 to 4.4 and i got 15 more fps on bf4
10 cores, so 5ghz
depends on the individual. If you're a "hardcore overclocking enthusiast" who gains an inch of epeen for each extra mhz, then yeah its worth it. If you're poor af and have old hardware then it might be worth it if its a particular cpu that overclocks exceptionally well (old c2q n shit). For the average user though, I'd argue that it isn't worth it just because of the potential extra cost of a sufficient cooler, cost of a K series chip, and extra heat / noise and instabilities.
