>Have a SATA III (6Gbps) SSD
Is there any adapter out there that will split the SSD into 2 drives segments that can then be "RAID 0"ed together for full performance?
You want to connect two sata ports to one drive to double the speed? No, that isn't how it works.

Obviously there needs to be a small board that fakes 2 drives and translates the instructions.
My 5 year old laptop had a SATA 3 port. Unless you're trying to resurrect a laptop from the 90s, use the SSD anyway. It'll still be faster than your average HDD.

You'll be able to re-boot lots faster.
