stupid question, I'm trying to connect to a specific site through https. None of my browsers can connect to said site; I basically get error 107. My software is dated by like 5 years. So, it's old but I don't think that's the issue. I can connect to said site through a network not my own so I know the site is not down. I don't have a packet sniffer installed to see exactly what's going on. But it must have to do with one of my certificates, right?

did you try a not 5 year old browser
>>
>>56064563
yes, I wrote that I used another network with current browsers and it connects. but this site was I able to connect with maybe a month or so ago with my home network and old software. there's been no changes in a firewall or anything like that.
>>
Error 107 is an error for being unable to actually make an SSL connection. Are you able to access other sites with HTTPS like this site here?

Hairpinning problem in your router, nothing to do with what browser you use or what your setup is beyond what your router allows you to do.

Yes

I did get a new router recently but I hadn't set up any firewall restrictions on the site that I'm trying to connect with so I didn't think it was the problem. Notwithstanding, a factory reset then?

Oh, there's your problem. Get the fuck off the internet until your software is updated.

Probably schannel not supporting SHA-256, or ECDSA, or TLS 1.2, or not having updated CA certs, or any number of other things.

But more importantly you SHOULDN'T be connecting to any site right now except to get OS updates, because it's not safe, because your software is outdated by like 5 years. That's like 500 wide-open RCE vulns or something. You're probably even still running Adobe Flash. Fix that first. Update your OS.

You're gonna need to be a little more clear on what changed between working and not working attempts.

You're using 5 year old browsers on your own network and it's not working.
When you try from a different network you're also using up to date browsers on a different machine?

It sounds like the problem has nothing to do with the network, and everything to do with your ancient browsers not supporting modern cipher suites.

Check the system clock.

This is the most likely thing to be your problem, as it might not support hairpinning.
If it does not have a way to enable it, a factory reset won't do anything.

Does the site even support HTTPS?
