Currently only have speakers in my monitor to rely on for sound.
Bought these Yamaha NS-AW1s for my surround sound system, but I never use that shit anyway.
Was wondering if you guys have any recommendations for a cheap amplifier so I can use these as bookshelf speakers for my computer.
Also, should I even worry with it or should I just go buy some shitty computer speakers and call it a day?

Just going to mount the amp to the inside of my desk where my legs go so it's easily accessible and out of sight, so it doesn't have to be pretty.
Does that particular amp come with a power adapter? I was reading reviews on Lepai amps earlier and all I could find negative was that they don't include a power supply.

Nevermind that question, I just found them. They do come with the power adapter in that price range! Thank you.

I'm from Virginia.
I'm not terribly worried about bass, so would Z130s be alright? They seem to be the best budget speakers I can find. I was considering a more expensive set, but the mids coming from those in reviews sound much more crisp.

yeah, that Z unit is fine if you just want a little bass

goodwill has some great deals since its people who just want to get rid of stuff -- there are units worth over $400 at times
craigslist near cities with large universities also have great deals when students move and want to just unload all the heavy stuff

goin to bed, but if you do buy an older receiver, make sure its less than 20 years old to avoid the problem with oxidation forming on the knobs which causes crackling and static noise

Hey, thank you for all your help! :)
Good night, friend. I will look over those and choose between a receiver or a set of Z130s tonight. You've been more than helpful!
