Anyone know of any applications to automate backups? I've been using PureSync for years but I think it's become pretty unreliable for me so I'm looking for a replacement.

is this the same as "Resilio Sync"? I'll take a look at your suggestions, thanks anon!

>rsync is a utility that keeps copies of a file on two computer systems. It is commonly found on Unix-like systems and functions as both a file synchronization and file transfer program. The rsync algorithm is a type of delta encoding, and is used to minimize network usage. Zlib may be used for additional compression, and SSH or stunnel can be used for data security.

We need more information on what you mean by "Backup". Are you backing up to another PC on the local network, using a remote server your control, want a managed backup "service" etc.. ? How many GB/TB of stuff do you need to backup and in what form - ie are these complete disc images or individual files? Will the files need to be accessed frequently or are these in case of emergency etc... ?
That will depend how to progress...

Yes, looks like they renamed it again.

I should have provided more info, true. I am looking to just essentially mirror directories from one local drive to another local drive. Just 1:1 copies but on different drives.

It works on Windows too, if you're wondering or if the "commonly found on *n?x" scared you off

Never have I been so proud of samefagging, but I hope it's useful. Do take a look at the GUI frontends at the bottom of the article.
