The next laptop nvidia GPU are the same as the one on desktop (roughtly), it mean way, way, way stronger than the -m mobiles series.

Finally gaming on laptop gonna be at the level of the PC one.
The last amd mobile gpu like hd 8970m can't compete.
If AMD don't react, they're dead.
>>56020390
The problem with this is that there are barely any sites that sell the discrete mobile gpu's by itself. Not only that, the prices of those mobile gpu's are extremely high (see ebay's price difference between gtx 980 and 980m).
Amd wont die
They just need to be competitive by making affordable GPUs that have similar performance
They can't compete with Intel though.
The 470,480, and 490 will be better by PPW and lower price. Nvidia only has the 1070 and 1080 stuff.
1060 isn't an option.
those full fat GPUs are only in the highest tier laptops and they're housefires. AMD has lots of problems but this isn't one of them. AMD's terrible perf/watt and the leaks showing Zen to be a disaster performance wise are much bigger problems right now.

Enjoy your throttling.

>1060 isn't an option.
>isn't an option
>direct competition to the cards listed isn't an option
Seriously, fuck yourself. The 1060 performs at the same level as the 480, overall, at a lower power consumption and lower temperature while being competitive in price (it varies from region to region, availability tends to be higher).
>>56020390
You're retarded.
The chips and ram itself don't take much space and can fit a laptop too, sure, but what about the fucking heat? It will overheat as fuck and throttle.
You can always use one of these though.
gaming on a laptop has been on par with desktop performance since the beginning of the year
>>56020390
> gaming
> laptop
Seriously, pick one. Even though new gen laptop gpu are better than past ones, gaming laptop will always be literal heat machines and cost more for worse cool/silence performance.

>Finally gaming on laptop gonna be at the level of the PC one.
I wouldn't bet on it. It won't get nearly as much power or cooling.

1060 is shit
Why is the mobile RX 480 faster than a GTX 1080?

I was trying to figure this out but I think it means the relative overall score.in terms of system used. Not a mobile GPU beating a desktop GPU. Does that make sense?
>>56021046
Every poorfag knows that amd cards age better. 9xx cards are not two years old and get legacy drivers while amds older cards performance increase.
Btw the 480 is better in actual dx12/Villanova titles.

This
And how bulky would these laptops be. Not that I'm a apple razer blade thin MacBook fag, but they would be >6cm thick or something.
>>56025465
What is the difference between 480m and 480?
>>56025568
The clue is in the 'M' for mobile.
>>56020390
How is this possible without active cooling?
>>56025580
Why does a mobile version of the rx480 perform better than a 1080.
>>56025580
>>56025634
i'm assuming is means multi gpu .

This
Been waiting to upgrade my 770m but 980m's are more expensive than a 1080.
we've had desktop gpus in laptops for a while now

The source is AMD? That's a reliable source.
>>56025426
>mobile RX 480
You might want to re-read that. It isn't the score for a mobile 480.
>explicit multi-adapter
>>56025710
Yeah I realize that. I'm retarded (I'm hungover too but that's another issue).
>>56020390
No.
The chips never were the problem. It's the power budget. You cannot produce 150 Watts in a laptop for GPU alone. Laptop gaming will always be crippled.
Did I mention battery life? No I didn't.
