I'm interested in reviving an old nokia phone to use. What is the cheapest/easiest way to do this? This phone is supposedly a GSM phone, if I just popped my sim card in what's stopping this phone from being usable?

Shouldn't be much of a problem if its GSM and used the bands used by GSM carriers. Call your carrier and ask about a talk/text only plan, probably get it for under $30 a month.
