Get a 4-year CS degree and do a bunch of internships and finally get a well paying job like everyone else.

The ONLY way to really make money in the current state of the world economy is to found your own business. Really.
Working for someone else pretty much hard caps you at 500k/y and to get there you basically need a doctorate or a well respected MBA and many years of experience.
If you can land a nice administrative *ware engineering position that's still capping out around 300k/y.
Realistically you can expect to pull around 130k/y in a management IT position or real software engineering position.
Being a slovenly code monkey with no drive will land you maybe 75k/y at the peak of your uneventful career.
