Word of mouth/viral marketing is much more effective early on than dumping a bunch of money into celebrity endorsement for a (most likely) unfinished and unpolished product.

i honestly don't know how you can still misunderstand the joke so severely.

they were suggesting hiring her as a developer so she would just sit around all day and they could stare at her. neither of them was serious.

the joke is that she's demonstrated a very basic qualification (e.g. can sit in front of an open terminal and not burst into flames). it would be like if a horse picked winning lotto numbers and someone said "that horse should run the treasury!", except that this woman is also nice to look at.

i honestly have no idea where all this talk about marketing is coming from. it was a joke. nobody reached out to her to see if they could find a place for her at their startup. this is the most autistic nitpicking i've ever seen on /g/. you really need help.
