Why do all SATA SSDs have cases? Why can't they cut costs and sell them bare? That's how most ram is sold. In fact the new m.2 SSDs are sold that way now. Sick and tired of them adding bullshit to PC parts that serve no function other than redundancy for the normies.

Uh, no. You still don't need a case. They simply need the screw slots which could work if they added risers to it. In many cases the SATA ports are good enough to hold a half sized SSD in place securely.
