HTC one m7, replaced the battery this year. CM13 installed.

Galaxy s7 after trying to replace the charging port on my s6 while drunk and breaking it.

Miss the IR blaster, but waterproofing is cool. Runs about the same maybe a hair cooler and battery actually lasts all day.

Kinda wish i would have gone with something with usb-c because i know the charging port on this will just shit out in a year or 2

Galaxy S3 I9300 running cm13.
Only one GB RAM is killing this device and makes it pretty much unusable for any multitasking. Camera in CM has shit quality and battery life is also bad even though I have the original Samsung battery with bigger capacity.

I have this crappy alcatel that has 512 mb ram, jellybean (updated to kitkat with a pablo kernel, running a CM 12.1 rom) and a 400x800 screen, pretty decent even though its specs are awful, but since all I do with it is read manga at work it's ok, I am thinking of getting either an S5, an HTC 10 or a RN3P just for the bigger screen, but I don't know what to do with this one after replacing it, just letting it rot in its box after 4 years of use seems like a waste, call me autistic but it feels like I'm betraying it after everything it did for me.

Verizon Galaxy S6
As of right now I absolutely hate it.

I picked a horrible day to reformat my device, as I got a bad flash on my first attempt. I had to start over from original firmware only to find out that OE2/OC3 root no longer works because the chink dev for pingpong root is dead and will no longer update it. XDA mods also locked the thread just two days ago. For whatever reason he took the device data down with his "in-app root" solution, and has not responded to PMs at all for the past week.

So as far as things go I've declared that I cannot root the device anymore, and jumped ship to stock unrooted with no turning back.

The ads are annoying, not being able to use titanium backup is annoying, I can't use sixaxis controller with GearVR anymore, some Tasker stuff I use that require root cannot be used anymore.

Also the development for the device itself is dead as fuck. Even if I still had root, NO ROM has updated since August 2015 for the Verizon Variant. There's literally 2-3 options only, and one that relies on "downloadable essential addons" that I like decided to stopped hosting the files and no one in the thread seems to care enough to upload mirror links. Another Stock Rooted is buggy. 5.0.1 in general is buggy because of heavy memory leaks

I don't have money to get a new phone. If anything I want a OnePlus 3, because I don't like the rear fingerprint design on the 5X/6P.

I've had this phone for an entire year. I regret buying this phone. I love the button placement, I love the build quality, I love GearVR, I love the display, but holy fuck Samsung and the software. (Battery sucks as well but I've been used to this for years)

I recently bought a Redmi Note 3 Pro from Gearbest for $195. Put CM 13 on it yesterday and it's been a real breeze. The phone is nice, responsive and does everything I need it quickly. Huge upgrade from my Moto G 1st gen and a really good deal considering I paid just 50 bucks less for my Moto G.

I bought a Moto X Pure 2015 on a whim when I found a good deal, my M8 is starting to show it's age

dead pixel on the first one, sent it back, took 4 days to get back to B&H photo only for me to find out it went out of stock after I ordered the first one, so who knows when I'm going to get a replacement ;_;

I dug the size of the screen tho, and other than the dead pixel it looked really nice. Speakers were really loud but I'm gonna miss the boomsound of the M8.

Eh, S5 is still a really good phone, the problem is Android updates in the long run. If you do get an S5, make sure you get a Qualcomm variant so you can (hopefully) be able to root it and have development support. It's probably not going to get updated to Nougat.

I'm happy with it, meme screen is actually useful. The steel frame makes it nearly indestructible in an otterbox. The ips screen is disappointing after coming from the s4 but most of the time you won't know the difference. In bright conditions when the auto brightness cranks to the max it will look a little washed out. The camera is impressive as hell for low light conditions when a flash isn't an option.

I'll get 5+ hours screen on time but results can vary depending on what you are doing.

The phone is alright but I wasn't content with the software experience until I was able to flash a cm 13 based ROM only just a few months ago because of Verizon's locked bootloader. Verizon broke the first update to lollipop for this phone and made me rollback to kitkat and root. Stayed on kitkat until I flashed an AOSP ROM. Not going to go Samsung ever again I think. Just Nexus phones for me from now on. Sure, I'll lose the SD card ability unless they add it to the Nexus line and also the water resistance, but I don't trust the water resistance anyways because the charging port flap is raised a little after all the times of opening it and the back cover is the same after these 2+ years of use.

I'm in the same position. The Nexus 5 was completely overhyped. The hardware quality is so shitty that I feel like it's going to one day crumble randomly out of fucking nowhere. The only thing it has going for it is the software, which isn't that much of a draw for it now that its CM branch got their shit together. I mean, yeah it's possible to run some awesome hacking tools on here. But really, how often are you going to touch those advanced tools in your daily life?

I'm really tempted to get an iPhone as my next phone just because I want something that is a good daily driver with good hardware support.

S7Edge since release, best phone I've ever owned. Had Galaxy Nexus->Note 3->Nexus 6->LG V10 before it.

Have an S5 for a few days now and I really like it. I was actually using an S1 before for 4 years. The S1 would be pretty good if it wasn't so slow.

I currently own a huawei honor 5x, which I unlocked and rooted. I have cm13 flashed on it. And i have to say, its nice to have fingerprints working. Waiting on my xiaomi redmi note 3 pro to be shipped soon.

What I hated about MIUI before I switched to CM is that for some reason, I couldn't use media playback controls from the notification drop down menu like pic related. It worked fine on the music/media apps that comes with MIUI but not with alternative music apps.

Also LTE stops working frequently in MIUI for some reason but is stable with CM.

Yeah, it's old but has 2GB RAM, NFC, LTE, pretty good screen even though it's 720p, "hardware" buttons, all glass build etc.
The only flaw for me is the speaker on the back, but it was cheaper than a Moto G 2014 so no regrets.

Hello anon, I am using and have been using the s5 since it came out and am very happy with its performance and how well the phone has held up. Day and a half battery life before pokemon go.

G3 I bought at launch just over two years ago. Only problem is, is that its the Tmobile model (D851) so rooting on newer Android versions has gotten a little difficult.

Great phone though, battery is still good, replace the screen protector two or three times a year, always cased. Had to replace the headset last year for $8 but that's it. Hope to get another two years out of it at least since its only used for calls/texting, Maps, and light toilet browsing.

My second one lasted a year until it imploded near the NFC part and now the screen doesn't work at all.

I'm using the LGV10 and I really love this phone, I'd say a bit more than the Droid Turbo I came from.

The second screen is a glorified app/contact shortcut area, but I do enjoy the non-intrusive notifications. And having a good camera certainly is nice.

The main thing I miss about the DT is the slightly smaller form factor and the amoled screen.

Was the note 2 the goat phone? I have a 4 and love it, but nothing captures the feel of my old 2 before I cracked the screen. Can wait for the 7, really love the note line.

Blackberry Q10. Released over 3 years ago. Its a damn fine phone with the smoothest OS you'll ever use. Comes with marshmallow. About as stock as it gets but has like 4 preinstalled apps because Metro. It has some downsides though, it doesn't have NFC or a removable battery. If you want all the bells and whistles get the S7. Better camera, water proof and higher res display. I got the OP3 because the difference in photo quality is minimal imo, the water proof would be more like a failsafe for me instead of a feature (plus the speaker sounds quite bad because of that) and I owned a note 4 and I ended up not caring for the 4k display and saw it as a waste of battery.

Also, samsung can be VERY slow with updated, i only got the marshmallow update on my note 4 when google announced the new version, which was like a year later I think. Oneplus is much faster with updates. If you end up getting an OP3 I recommend you get a case, the phone is very thin.

iPhone 5 w/ iOS 9 jailbreak. Been very happy with it since 2012. Except now, because there is no 9.3.3 jb for 32 bit devices. Random reboots overnight (memory race issues) and very fast battery drain below 15% for some reason even with a battery capacity at 90%. It's a problem with early iOS 9 and made worse with jb. Looking forward to iOS 10 tho, since my spare 5 I got from a family member runs the betas pretty well. I mainly need jb to block ads through hosts, icleaner, root to change shit Apple doesn't think about, location spoofer, and a math alarm integrated into the clock app. The math alarm is a godsend for getting up in the morning and I don't know how I got through ROTC in college without it.

I'll get the 2017 iPhone as my next upgrade.

I'd say for a casual user experience you should probably not go with the s5. Samsung just finished support for it so you're better off getting an s7 for casual use at this point unless you want to get into the custom ROM scene. In which case it'd be better to get a Nexus anyways.
