> Windows still has to restart several times to install an update
How is this shit still permissable?
The OS is a fucking mess. It would be almost impossible to do.
Not a big deal, outside of some Windows Defender updates which don't require reboots, there's very rarely even updates.

don't worry all of the things will be exactly where you left them

/me ran a full upgrade of ubuntu mate from 14.04 to 16.04 (major release to major release), while watching a movie on it, continuing to work. stated finished & required 1 reboot. 1. not hours
I totally also bought an os that has features i deem unpermissable

Shame... Shame... Shame...

I huess the assimption here is you use a pirated windows. Check and mate

Topkek
>>55988531
You remember they were giving it away for free, right?
What's honestly the huge deal? Especially since we have SSD's now
>>55988550
Fre upgrades iirc. Either you bought windows and upgraded your license to 10 and use 10 wh9ch is bad or you pirated it which may be worse idk
>>55988553
downtime is always a bad thing
I never have to turn off my desktop running linux except for when I do kernel updates
>>55988553
It's not a HUGE deal, but it's certainly annoying g watching something on it and windows just up and decides for itself to install updates without warning, interrupting what I was doing.
Look at that, just motorin' along.
This hapoens on Linux too fuckweed.
>>55988588
I turn off my system three times a day. I enjoy doing it.
Looked like it was done for a moment there, but it came back to this...
>>55988588
Yea that happens to me on Windows. I leave my PC on 24/7 and the only thing that turns it off is when Windows has a new update.
>>55988686
Wow must feel good when mom pays the electricity bill.
>>55988700
>electricity
>expensive
it literally costs me $15/month to keep my desktop running 24/7 at a very liberal estimate
that's fucking nothing

That fucking backlight bleed jesus
>>55988624
yeah ive been staring at this for 20 minutes and it still hasnt moved even a little. you should upgrade your pc dude
>>55988830
it takes 35 mins and that only on a 3tb or less system and that is with no user data
takes more with saved ganes and the like because it has to move everything onefile at a time.
I swear the backend is a dos system at times it still does one thing at a time and can't multi task for shit with these install updating crap.
>>55988296
Do you think wincuckolds even know what upgrading means
The Apple MacBook Pro with Retina Display doesn't have this problem.
>>55988588
Actually, since 4.0 you don't even have to reboot to update the kernel.
>>55988656
Maybe if you are using systemd, but it certainly doesn't happen with SysVinit.
>>55988434
I still don't know why defender is preinstalled
>>55988477
For your own good don't do that. Personal experience.
>>55988656
no, you reboot once when the OS install is finished, never during it.
a debian installation takes 20 min max.
>>55988296
run it in a vm in linux and get your machine back. windows will then be a guest on your machine again like it was many many moons ago.
