Putting hardware into a itx case. Maybe the single most frustrating task I have ever done. The cable management was a bitch

when i upgraded to windows 8 my machine suddenly starting waking itself up all hours of the night. i sleep in the same room as my pc so it woke me up. i vividly remember being awake at 4am on a work night swearing at my computer for waking itself up.

as soon as i figured out how to fix it i scrawled it on a post-it note and the next day i put it on superuser. every time windows 10 updates i get a few more points as people google it.

My first PC build ever was in an ITX case. I had only recently turned 17, and only used laptops before.
Probably should have started with an ATX or at least micro ATX case because I later learned those have way fewer hoops to jump through than ITX cases (the SG08-L specifically)
Pic related is about 2 weeks after completing the build. I attempted cable management, but it was kind of just a mess.

At this point I've put together several of my friend's PCs, both ITX and ATX, so I think I'm a but more competent at it now.
Still, having my first PC build in this was a fucking mess. It would have been even worse if my PSU wasn't modular.

Oh and the scratch marks are a result of the case's mechanism for taking off the top. It's not really meant to be opened frequently so scratches on that side (especially with putting the thing back on) are kind of inevitable.

last week trying to work with Outlook 365 in a .NET project

I wanted to automatically open up the "new mail" prompt with an attachment already added and it was a complete and utter pain in the ass

MS' interoperability libs did not work. their VS2015 office dev plugin did not work. I spent multiple hours trying various ways of doing this shit. everything was so fucking poorly documented too.

I ended up opting for a syscall (eg calling outlook.exe with the /a switch) and it worked. problem is the outlook installer randomly selects one of three locations and Windows is a piece of shit OS that doesn't make proper use of the $PATH environment variable so I have to try-catch every possible fucking occurrence of it.

Never before have I experienced something as ground breaking as this latest windows update. Emphasis on breaking. This update has utterly fucked my computer. It has reset my custom settings. It has fucked performance. It has increased RAM usage. It has increased CPU usage. All whilst idling. It broke custom modifications in many pieces of software and it has further broken my registry.

The performance in the "new" windows task bar is fucking abysmal, you can't even scroll down quickly without it lagging and pausing to load. You get flooded with thousands of notifications about stupid shit you don't care about. They pin more things to your quick access bar, without asking you. They installed more bloatware. They've created more folders in my documents and C: Drive, none of which I want.

Good job Microsoft, you autistic fucks. You've successfully pissed me off. Now I have to do a fresh install on my machine.

Ive smashed at least 3 laptops when something in linux broke and i couldnt fix it, It was a cbination of linux and the laptops being old and me not carring about them anymore. Basically just started punching the keyboard really hard until my fist weny through the other side.

My laptop died and would not start up again and i got so angry i gave it a really hard blow right on the keyboard with my fist, then i picked it up and started walking down the road to the large trash sorting containers the county put up.

At around halfway to the trash containers my girlfriend caught up with me and asked if i connected the ac power adapter since it was still in the laptop carry case.

I have never felt more stupid in my life but walked home, attached the ac power adapter and it worked fine but the battery was empty.
