Is anyone else experiencing a lot of problems with windows explorer on windows 10? It hangs up on me for up to a minute trying to load certain folders, usually ones with images or .exes in them. I've done the optimize folder thing, defragged my hdd, and nothing seems to be working. Is this just explorer being a piece of shit?

you can't be serious
Disable windows defender, looks like it's "defending" you.
Doesn't happen to me
>HDD
Go into the power settings and make it so your HDD doesn't turn off.

On a Pentium D and it doesn't happen to me. Is Windows trying to index your files?
>Windows just werks
>>55979916
HDD failing.

Yes, all of those problems. Also start menu doesn't show up for like 5 seconds sometimes and a few times explorer has crashed altogether and I've had to restart it manually using task manager.
Win10 a shit

I will try this, thanks

This isn't the issue, it happens even when I first boot the computer and the hdd is definitely spinning

I also don't think this is the problem as the drive is less than a year old
>>55980134
Yeah I've had it go (not responding) and crash quite a few times, I'm pretty sure I never had this problem in windows 7 with the same drive
Are you on the Anniversary Update?

Post SMART and we'll see. I had the same exact problems when HDD was dying. It also might be your SATA controller shitting itself.
>>55980204
Yes
>>55980231
I've done plenty of hard drive tests and scans and they all come back with no errors, how would I check if there's something wrong with my SATA controller?

>Yes
The AU is known to cause these kind of issues. Either go back to the november update and stay there, or do a clean install of the AU build and see if that helps.
Protip: It won't help.

Same issue here yes.

It's sending the folder contents to M$ before it opens, you jackass. You agreed to this when you installed Windows 10.
