What does /g/ think of the Solus Project?
Looks like a nice distro imo, ships with their own budgie desktop, pic related.
even though the software choice isn't as large as ubuntu or fedora, you think it's a good choice for a lightweight desktop OS?
It has everything I need.
>VLC for multimedia
>libre office for word processing
>chrome, opera, vivaldi, or midori for web browsing
It's also built up from scratch, not based on ubuntu or red hat or any other distro, which is nice to see imo.
While I do like the fact we are seeing new distros, I love the Budgie desktop. I might run it on Debian or Ubuntu because I am a cuck

you can install it on ubuntu, or install the ubuntu budgie remix which is just ubuntu with budgie installed from scratch.
I'm just curious if it's lighter than ubuntu as well, because I was thinking of installing it on ubuntu too.
tried budgie on my fedora mate laptop and it kept crashing unfortunately
I can't find this distro by googling it, therefor it's shit

yeah, turns out there's a steam game with the same name as this OS...

I think it's shit OP, because there's a 50% chance it's your own project that you're shilling, just like the independent presidents over on /pol/ creating fake campaigns.

Budgie looks promising, but if memory serves Solus itself has been through its ups and downs over the years and is more or less a one-man project. Maybe that's changed and there are more people on board now, but not sure it has longevity in it. Approach with caution if you're looking for a long-term home distro, but one to watch at least.
