Is there a better option than Android or iOS for phones?
Getting tired of the locked down nature of the iPhone, and I'd like to switch to something else, but Google is a botnet and I've heard that android can have some pretty bad security issues. Is there a better alternative? Is there a more secure version of Android that can be trusted?

You can always buy an Android phone and install an aftermarket rom without Google Play services (or just the very minimum to run certain services). Or you can try Jolla.

To answer your question in regards to secure Android roms, I implore you to take a look at the /g/ wiki and look under the Android page. Find one that suits you and use it.

Is it the thing that google is working very hard on phasing out and leaving unusable with Android app ecosystem?

Google play services can be removed from android.

you mean the thing where freetards wonder why they can't use certain aspects of android because "muh botnet"?

No. What I'm talking about is a situation when an app requires google map services (even though user does not need that functionality) and will refuse to launch because you don't have google map services installed.

Windows Phone is pretty good if you don't mind the pretty lack luster appstore.
Copy paste that description for blackberry OS, except that one has better security and phones are more expensive.
Windows Phone.
I seriously dont see a problem with it and runs perfectly fine. Especially with all those "no apps", when I always finds replacement that works just fine. Except for games, but those are in 99% just retarded "clickers".
