Do an hardware copy. Stack up the disks (the destination one goes under) and place a strong magnet on the top. This will transfer all the bytes from the top disk to the bottom one.
btw this works only with magnetic disk, not with SSD.

Plug new hdd into pc. Boot into linux live CD, copy entire HDD onto new HDD.
