>mfw finally have money to buy a GTX 1070
Here in Brazil GTX 1070 costs 740 USD minimum, average price is around 820 USD.
4 months of pure hard work to buy this bad boy. I was going for the RX480, but went for the 1070 instead since i had a 970.
Did i do well /g/?

>brazilian
no matter what you do, you'll have to live with that
>going from 970 to 1070
if you're still using a 1080p monitor, god help you.
>$820 for gaymes
>$820 to play f2p mmos or whatever the brs do
okay
>tfw no more post-delivering Zeppelins

Yes i know, life in Brazil is like playing a game on Very hard mode.

1024x768.
>>55958031
I like looking at the graphics.
>>55958069
Brazil invented the airplane so you wouldn't need it.
>>55958555
>1024x768
Dude the 970 was overkill for that resolution.
Your money would have been better spent on a better CPU/RAM platform
You are not going to see a single fucking extra frame for those hundreds of dollaroos you spent, my stupid hue
>>55957983
How much is the 480? What resolution/refresh rate do you game at?
>1070 at 1024x768
could have literally bought a 660
>>55958616
maybe he plans on upgrading his monitor next?
>>55957983
Maybe you're planning ahead or maybe you think the monster overkill GPU is going to be a huge powersaver for your resolution, both good options in my opinion, I don't know these things.
Frankly for how Brazil gov't fucks your people over you probably did a better job getting the decidedly more capable card now rather than buying something weaker and saying in a couple years "I think I want to upgrade again" after you get yourself something like a 1080p monitor.

Yes, as i said life in Brazil is ultra hard mode, i can only upgrade each component every 6 months. But i wanted this Pascal beauty first. I fear i might get >7.5gb or >async again, but i get used to it. I never imagined i would ever be able to buy a 1070 in my life.
>>55958620
The RX480 is 520 USD on average which is fuckload of a cash, more expensive than my old 3.5gb. I say on average because prices in Brazil for eletronics is completely schizophrenic. You can find a high-end XFX PSU(Seasonic OEM) for 200 dollars and find a Corsair mid-end PSU(Channel Well tech OEM) for 400 dollars.

>I never imagined i would ever be able to buy <graphics card> in my life
Shoot for the stars, Brazil.
>>55958620
Why the 480? did you miss the part where he already has a 970, a 480 would be downgrade.
>>55958944
A sidegrade perhaps but with better DX12 support (Maxwell 2 isn't as good as Pascal or Poolaris). I was curious about the cost was as well.
Wow I can't even imagine living in such a hell hole.
Even working a basic job in Norway it takes about a week to make enough for a 1070.

I figured they would be too busy shooting each other or bathing in shit.
>>55958616
need the best to run CSGO m8
>>55958882
Why the fuck would u buy a 1070 at that resolution knowing you'll see no difference in playing your games? Specially when you could have spend it on more important things.
