Rx 480 looks enticing. Any reason for me to not get it? Will my 500W PSU suffice? Also is the price going to go to the actual 200 dollar MSRP soon???

Its up to you which card you get, you could either put more budget in your GPU and get a GTX 1060 or less and get a RX 470.
I've been waiting to upgrade from my 6970 to either a 480 or 1060 but it doesn't seem anyone has anything good in stock for a fair price.

Only reason not to is power draw if you'll be blazing it all the time like I will.
It sounds a poor fag thing but with the amount I will it'd cost me an extra £20 a year over a 1060.

>Any reason for me to not get it?
Being on too tight a budget or having the money for a more powerful card
>Will my 500W PSU suffice?
Assuming it's not a chink housefire box, yes
>is the price going to go to the actual 200 dollar MSRP soon?
Who can say

I had my heart set on that card since I watched AMD reveal it live but the 470 is so close and is actually selling at the $200 MSRP that I'm just going to go with that.
From the looks of it you will not be getting a 480 at $200 any time soon. The 470 is selling at $200 so why would they sell the 480 at the same price? They're selling at what people are willing to pay and it seems it will stay that way for a while.
560ti here

Sorry, not MSRP but it is selling at $200 which is the 4gb 480 MSRP.

I had the chance to get a $200 4gig nitro, but ended up getting the 8gig for $240. You just have to know where to look.
To be honest at 1080 it seems the 470 is a great option.

And they're actually out
I'm not up for the amount of juice used.

It's so slightly cut down that there isnt much reason for the power draw to drop more than it did. I wonder if undervolting would signifficantly decrease power draw? With as little OC headroom as there is it seems theyre clocked very high out of the factory.

Meh I don't pay for power so I give zero fucks about power bill.
>>55953414
I know it's comparable to some models of 970 but efficiency is something I like.
>>55953599
Well it's almost exactly as efficient as the 970 is. What card are you considering instead?
>>55949839
the 480 performs exactly the same as the 470 with the exception of Virtual Reality, which is a pipememe that nobody cares about. get the 470

Honestly I'm only thinking of the Zotac AMP 1060, MSI 470, Nitro 480.
260, 220, and 240 pounds respectively.
