Will there be any really noticeable difference if I upgrade from a FX-8320? I've been thinking about a skymeme or waiting for Zen, but I'm wondering if I'll even see a noticeable difference in my everyday life.

If you play vidyas - yes. If not - no difference.

yes, went from fx to skymeme and there's a difference in every aspect. honestly i'm surprised at how much better it is. i can max any cpu bound game like it's fucking nothing.

Did you do a i5 or i7? I was thinking about the i5 6500 or maybe just pulling the gun on a i7 6700k

Play games? Do it now.

My middle of the road i5 (6500) basically wrecks my old 8320. Nor do I need an ugly as shit water cooling setup just to stop my system from melting.

i5 6600k. it has the same speed as the i7 6700k when it comes to gaming. i only game and do some programming i dont need the hyperthreading from i7.

even they up their game with zen i will never buy an AMD cpu. it's always a housefire with their products, it's not even funny.

I've tried to support them down the years and I'd be sad if they totally failed because then you know intel will just sit on their hands or jack prices.

I've had an Athlon XP (good processor at the time), Athlon 64 (good at the time), FX-4200 (meh) and an FX-8320 (good but single thread performance was 2009-esque). Being honest though, I always felt like I had a better PC when I had a core2duo or one of the really old i5s i had years ago. Very pleased with the i5-6500 I have at the moment.

Atleast AMD respects your privacy
