Arch's maintainers are manchildren.
For a pretty good distro, the community is seriously insane.
I approached someone about an autistic and ridiculous versioning scheme asking why he implements it (it's nonstandard) and he basically told me to work around it instead of acknowledging that it's ridiculous.
That's not autistic, it seems thorough and efficient.
Oh dear heavens we know.
Becoming an adult means your time has value. You'll leave all that teen tryhard mess about a distro being "too easy" about 3 hours into your first job. Arch soon-to-suicides are unemployable.

Having a kernel whose RELEASE NAME is linux-grsec-4.6.5.201607312210 is autistic.
That goes in the version string not the name string.

>I'm austistic and can't work around the maintainers numbering system so I asked him to change it and he said no so I got mad and posted on 4chan about it
Sounds like you're the manchild here OP

Arch isn't a Linux distro it's a timesink that dropouts invented for themselves to stay busy, you're wasting your time unless your goal WAS to waste time

Maybe the version name works as a seed and a binary and-ing operand/parameter?

I agree. I really like this distro, but it's too bad that a more professional organization like RHEL or something won't give us a distro like this so we don't have to depend on manchildren.

No thanks. Arch fills its niche perfectly by only giving you what you want installed.

not memeing but Gentoo is fantastic too
the compile times can be inconvenient for some software though.
