That won't fix the problem, the display is damaged permanently. Either deal with it or prepare to have the screen assembly replaced. Sorry for the bad news but the same thing happened to my laptop when I stupidly used alcohol on it.

OP you need a heat gun like they use for shrink wrap. A butane torch will work but isnt as disipated as well so you need to move it for even heating. Get the affected area real hot and you should see the spot disappear
