there are people browsing /g/ right now who don't use an ssd/haven't switched to ssd
a 500gb samsung 850 is $140~ on amazon, almost as cheap as dirt price-wise.
you can't really bitch about being tight on space, especially seeing how the 850 evo 500GB being semi-pricey amazon, which is still very inexpensive.
what's your excuse this time? being short on cash and or poor are inexplicable and invalid excuses
explain yourselves.
I doubt that there are that many of them.
Judging by the speccy threads, I'd say that almost everyone has an SSD at this point.
Most here can't afford Windows. How do you expect them to afford a SSD?

I don't have $140 to spend
A 1tb HDD at current market value is around 50 to 60 dollars
This Means i can get double the storage space, for approximately 3/8 of the price.
Why would I get one again?

Speed, no noise, less heat, and I'd like to say better reliability due to not having any moving parts, but I'm not sure if there's any extensive data regarding that yet.
After you have used one, you'll never want to go back to HDD.
Besides if you get one of the lesser known brands, you can get 500GB for 100$ and while not quite as fast as Samsung, still way faster than any mechanical drive on the market.
There's really no reason for you not to get one at this point.

No reason to. Everything loads at perfectly acceptable speeds for me. My friend's SSD doesn't seem to that big of an update and I don't want to spend money so why bother?
>tfw i fell for the 840 pro meme a few years ago.

Thanks to /g/ I did not buy the 840 and got a crucial mx100 instead. That was a close call

ssds degrade like any form of storage
they also get hot under long write tasks, m.2s can hit boiling point.
