I had the note 4 and the stylus was meh, I tried to take notes on it in college and it took me a few minutes to figure out that navigating through note apps wasn't well formatted for a phone(duh). Also writing on such a small screen wasn't enjoyable, it was fun for making shit post memes to share with my friends and taking screen shots tho.

I'm a drawfag myself and I'm thinking about getting a note 4 or 5 now that 7 is coming out.

I just don't know for which one to go for. Besides, you know that you won't be making real art on it. At best it's for figure drawings or sketches because you'll never have the same amount of detail you get on your regular tablet.

My Note 3 is still kicking it. Just upgraded to Lollipop yesterday and replaced the battery last month. Almost feels like a brand new device.

I would like to upgrade sometime as the Snapdragon 800 is getting slow. But I would like:

1. Slightly larger screen (6.0" instead of 5.7")
2. Removable battery
3. No curved screen gimmick that makes it impossible to fully protect the phone with a good case

There is almost zero progression in the mobile chip market.
Check "Geekbench single core" and you will see the benchmarks.

Only Nvidia's Nexus 9 produced better results lately. The new chips improve on multi-core performance, but that barely ever matters.

I have an SD801 and an Exynos 5433 (Note 4), honestly? They are the same. Have a Snapdragon 820 in the house (HTC 10). Honestly? Same, fucking, thing.

It's not like a Pentium -> Skylake or even a Core2 -> Skylake upgrade. It's like a simple Haswell -> Skylake. So like a 5% performance gain at most.

IMO you should aim for more ram. And features. And the good ol' features like replaceable battery, microsd. Like the LG V10. (4gigs of ram for same res.)

Ps.: I have a Note 4 as I mentioned, and my mother uses my old Note 2. "Old", fucking lol. That things loads pages the same speed, and if you OC it with a custom kernel, it's even faster.

Fast charging would be only "OK", but :
1) Battery still degrades. The more you charge it, the faster.
2) Samsung's quick charge sucks. You have to turn off display, and can only boost until 40-50% fast. Oppo and OnePlus is way ahead of their game (VOOC for example).

Also, carrying around a big ass pack + cable... son, I tried, it's a big pain in the ass.
