I turned off my display on Windows - just the display, computer was still on and not sleeping. I left and got back and just pushed keys trying to get my PC to wake up because I thought I put it to sleep.

Now all my title bars and menus have incredibly big fonts. What happened and how to fix?

Check the font size of the title bars. Default is 9.

What's the cheapest laptop I can get in Australia that can do all this:

How the fuck do you people say that wine + playonlinux works?
I'm currently dual booting windows 10 (for muh games) and antergos for everything else. Someone told me to check out wine and if I can run my games through that I won't need windows at all.
Well it turns out that wine won't work on programs that are on different drives than the one Linux is installed on.
I have a 240gb ssd that I have partitioned in half for Linux, and my games are all stored on a 1 tb hybrid drive.
Am I just missing something here or is there actually no way for me to run those games through wine?

What's the best android app player for windows or linux at the moment? I wanna play some Android games on my computer.

I've heard it's Bluestacks or Nox, but, both kind of concern me. The former cause I read it apparently wants me to install its shitty app of the day type of thing if I don't fork up cash for it and I can't really find anything on Nox either. So I'm just curious if someone could point me in the right direction, or tell me more about the two I mentioned here. Thanks.

Should i put 8 GB ram and an SSD in my old ASUS U31f for $54, or just buy a new laptop?
>>
>>55909031
Unless the ram is under 4gb, the CPU is probably going to be the biggest bottleneck.
If it has a decent CPU then just go for the ram and ssd.
>>
>>55909052
Ram is 4 GB, cpu is some i5 480m i think
>>
>>55909066

You should be happy with an ssd in that, assuming you don't want to do a hell of a lot more than browsing/movie watching/typing. Wouldn't bother with the ram
>>
>>55909066
I think you should go for both the ssd and ram upgrades if you play any games on that laptop. If not, just monitor your ram usage for a bit and if it isn't going above 3.5 then skip out on the memory.
You will definitely enjoy the ssd though.

How exactly do files depreciate? They remain the same over time, don't they? Is it that we keep moving our technology in a way that doesn't care for compatability of older things, or is that something completely unrelated?

Could be any number of things. All we know is that it's not finding a windows install. Very possibly the boot files are just messed up. What you need is either a windows 7 install disk or some sort of repair utility. If you don't have a copy of 7, I reccomend making a recovery disk with macrium reflect on another computer and booting to that.

I have a jailbroken iPhone running 9.3.3

I can download the Fortune 4chan client's free version and it runs fine, but Cydia refuses to let me download the paid version, saying it's not compatible for my system.

Depends on what you're using it for. For torrents almost any paid VPN will work. For other things it's really about how much you trust an entity who you'll never meet and who probably doesn't have to report to anyone. There are lists every year or so of the most recommended ones. Never use free. Just don't do it.

Back when HTML5 video was kinda new in Firefox, Firefox sometimes refused to go fullscreen completely. It put the video as big as the webpage was, you had to press F11 to make it fullscreen manually.

There's a couple different ways. Over a long period of time the electron spin that holds the data on your HDD decays and the data is lost. Most of the time the firmware on the drive can predict and recover the data but if a HDD is off for 10+ years you can expect the data to be corrupted. The data on SSDs is much more volatile, taking only a couple years of not powering on to be lost.

The answer to that is "maybe".
Wine itself is open source so it's unlikely to be a botnet. However, if you install Windows DLLs to get stuff to work, you have proprietary Windows code on your system.

Can I get some I.T. support before I call my provider - a last ditch attempt before I have to follow them through their dumb script before getting any help.
A while back I was having major disconnect issues on every game I played; play 2 minutes - dc, play 2 minutes - dc, etc. etc. This issue was fixed when I fouind my ping to my router was going kinda crazy pretty often, so I switch to ethernet using powerline adapters and all is well.
That is until recently, where the problem has come back. Ping to everything is constant and stable, yet I'm still dc'ing every few minutes from games (i,e, Overwatch and CSGO as wewll as Discord)
Another thing, this problem happens simultaneously throughout my house, so when I had 2 computers both playing csgo at the same time, they would also DC at the same time.
I've been told by someone it could be a dodgy router, but I want to call my shitty provider before spending the money to replace it.

Doing it your way, you get one snapshot of your data that you can revert to.
Backup software can do incremental backups, which means you copy everything over once, and then you add more snapshots where only the changes since the last one are saved. It gives you several different points to revert to without using up a lot more disc space. And the whole process can be automated so you don't forget it.

But when it runs, the program outputs the value "/377" which I've read is octal for 255

    std::cout << "Please enter the subnet mask" << std::endl;
int subMask;
std::cin >> subMask;
std::vector<byte> subnetMask = {0, 0, 0, 0};

if(subMask%8 == 0) //If it's a valid subnet : "Classful addressing prescribed only 3 possible subnet masks (8, 16, 24)
{
int subCounter = 0;
for(int i = 0; i < subMask; i+= 8)
{
subnetMask[subCounter] = 0xFF;
std::cout << "SUBNET MASK AT " << subCounter << " is " << subnetMask[subCounter] << std::endl;
subCounter++;
}
}

All software is made of instructions, and those instructions tell it what to do, how to fend off viruses and hackers, and they determine which new features you get or which old ones you might loose. If your instructions don't include the more recent protections for new viruses, you are more vulnerable to those things. People can change features you don't want by adding changes to those instructions. Lately Microsoft has been adding instructions that tend to add advertising, take away personal controll, and cause more of your information to be shared against your will, so people are trying to fight back and determine which updates they take, which is hard and not always possible on windows 10.

How would I go about converting every other letter to uppercase in cpp assuming they are all lower case? Now this may seem easy but I have a problem in the way. Manually download and install:

microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=47351

then

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=53332

If you're cool with taking pretty much every update in the last 5 years at once and not being able to uninstall them individually, then you can install the "Convenience Rollup" in between the other two, which is like a SP2 for Windows 7 and will save you some time and reboots.

It's a two part process:

http://www.howtogeek.com/255435/how-to-update-windows-7-all-at-once-with-microsofts-convenience-rollup/

I also suggest disabling IE entirely from Windows Features before you begin, but be sure you have another browser downloaded first.

>>55919179
You only need the servicing stack if you're taking the convenience rollup

Trying to get it that the IP address resolves to /var/www/html and that the domain resolves to /var/www/html/[folder].

How should my virtual hosts be set up in Apache?

I can currently only get it so that both the domain and the domain are both resolving to the same directory (the one set for my domain is carrying over to the IP address)

Thanks for any help that can be offered.

tl;dr how can i keep my rutorrent off my domain and only on my externally facing IP

Nobody knows. The cracks aren't open source so you can't really be sure they haven't slipped in something funky. But some sources are less likely to contain malware, like anything you download directly from my digital life. Also you would want to avoid downloading cracked torrent images as those tend to be riddled with hidden malware you probably wouldn't find in a million years of virus scanning.

The answer used to be "yes, but it's super hard to figure out how". Now it's more like "yes, if you're lucky and windows 10 adapts to the new hardware automatically". Otherwise it's a pain in the ass. If you were attempting it you would clone the drive within the same computer or image it and restore that image on a different computer. You would use macrium reflect. Some paid programs are better at transferring the install like Acronis. Probably none of this would transfer your actual license.

>>
>>55920102
As far as legitimizing your current install there should be a sticker on the device somewhere with a product key, and if you reenter that it should work. Or call up the activation hotline and try to reactivate it. That just applies to it on this hardware though. The license probably wouldn't transfer.

Win7 has about a 40% chance of just working (software wise) if you copy it to a new computer and run the repair. Otherwise you would either need Acronis or a lot of research and trial and error

it defaults to the best /single/ stream
youtube for example, has everything better than 720p30 mp4 as /seperate/ video and audio streams (DASH)
to ensure you always get the best /including/ seperate streams, use the format;
"bestvideo+bestaudio/best"
note, you will need ffmpeg available, as it's used to mux (join) the streams into a single file

i take it you're using windows
since you're unlikely to use ffmpeg otherwise, just download it from here;
https://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/
(the first link based on what system you have, 32bit static or 64bit static)
extract it and place "ffmpeg.exe" in the same folder as "youtube-dl.exe"

as for the format, how are you going about running youtube-dl right now? from cmd? a browser script? something else? the method you're using might have a simple way to specify the format to use
>>
>>55920899
I've got the .exe and I'm running it from cmd, yeah
>>
>>55920976
you can specify the format like this;
youtube-dl -f "bestvideo+bestaudio/best" <url>

or you can make it the default by using a configuration file
in windows that would be either;
%appdata%\youtube-dl\config.txt

or
%userprofile%\youtube-dl.conf

the file likely doesn't exist, so you'll need to make it, the text in %%'s are environment variables, just put them in explorer as normal and it'll know where to go
