Are there other sites like Github that offer private repos? Dont feel like sharing my whole crap with the world, and i dont feel like paying 7 Dollars just for some privacy.
I don't think you understand the point of open source software.

Github has nothing to do with open source software, cum drinker. It's main purpose to exist is offer private repos for PAYING customers, and they get credibility thanks to idiots like you who host your hobbyist projects there and advertise it for free

Just run your own GitLab instance

Thanks I will have a look at those
GitLab seems quite interesting

Not technically true, Github uses git which is open source, making Github have quite a bit to do "with open source". Github as a service, though, does not necessarily have to host open source projects.
But you act like a fucking asshole so I figure i'd point out that you're wrong, moron.

this
it works well

Github facilitates open source software but that's not a core principle of it. GitHub is just about commoditized, more easily accessible Git version control.
I would be annoyed if the OP wanted to use a git repo in some way that fundamentally misunderstood git, but he's more than justified wanting to keep some (or perhaps all) of his projects private.

calling people a "cum drinker" and whatnot just makes us look like assholes. if he says something genuinely stupid, sure mock him, but he stated a difference of opinion. the least you can do is offer him the respect you'd want him to have offered you if you'd given your opinion and he was disagreeing with it. don't sink to the level of /b/tard.
as for OP, bitbucket and gitlab are the most common/popular. If you're a college student, though, I would encourage you to look into a subsidized education plan from GitHub. you basically just need an @...edu address.
I think I even expired on mine and just pinged them again to be like "Hey I'm still in college, but grad school now; can I get another promo?" and in about 2 minutes they approved it. Not sure if there's some bizarre non-realtime NLP going on behind the scenes or they're paying some crowd worker to read the explanation field to make sure I'm not stating I'm using it to bring back the third reich, but it was quick enough that I wasn't waiting on them.
host your own
GitLab, it's great anon

I kind of hate their UI compared to GitHub, but other than that it's fine.

Gitosis... keep it simple.
Yeah, it's called a server running git.
