Can we have a Mini-ITX build thread?
I'm a huge fan of the form factor. I recently did a small form factor build using the Lian Li TU100 case.
Can you guys post some of your small form factor builds?

The PS4 really shows how small your rig is.

My Lian Li train is also ITX

I like ITX builds. I really want to make a ZEN itx build when it comes out. It would make a great LAN party build

Currently have an Silverstone RVZ 01 build, it'd be kind of sweet to go smaller somehow though. Tempted by a Silverstone FT03 Mini for the smaller footprint.
>>
>>55889236
I was going to do an APU 7890k A10 build but it's so expensive and ZEN is coming up. I'm really looking forward to it.

>I really want to buy something I know nothing about that may or may not be complete trash when it comes out.

Why?
>>
>>55889526
Because I want an APU setup and Zen is likely to be better than FM2+

When I first wanted to build my computer, I was really interested in SFF cases. It was around the time the ncase was released, so there was a lot of hype, and plenty of memes to go along with the disadvantages of one lane and what not. I took the risk, and it was very fun, difficult, but rewarding to build it neat and proper. there are a few unfortunate flaws that come with trying to go small form factor, such as gpu space, airflow, and storage without sacrificing the whole point of going SFF to save space.

I used this build for a little while, but then I moved a size up when I was running out of storage space and couldnt stand the heat anymore.

SFF is a good idea, but its main use should really only be for media centre PCs

they don't make it anymore. ftz01 looks nice if you want mitx. it also has better cooling than the ft03 mini.

The thing that amazes me more than anything is how you manage those temps, for the CPU and GPU at least, your motherboard isn't so happy.

Think this will fit in a Silverstone SG11B with a PSU on top?

Also, for airflow reasons, would I want to reverse the airflow of the PSU fan to draw air in, or leave it blowing out from inside the case.
The cooler may be right under the PSU fan and I don't want a dead zone of airflow

Can someone rate this build I'm trying to buy tomorrow?

I've never built an mini before so I'm not sure about space management and heat issues. If anyone could tell me if I'm doing ok that would be nice.

http://pcpartpicker.com/list/ML4f9W
(Im pretty sure cooler will fit in case the dimensions were not correct on site)

Any tips while building this to make cable management easier? like set up wires and psu before i put in motherboard to organize easier?

1070 is the same size card as 980ti right? they fit in 250d?

Got an ncase m1 coming later this month for my first sff build

i7-6700k & GTX1080 in a case smaller than the UPS that sits on the corner of my desk

I'm retiring my old 3930K and replacing it with sff for vidya and a dual xeon build for work/vm abuse

I really like this case. Is it a good deal or there are better ones?
>>
I fell for the meme and got a Silverstone ML08 Milo case with a SFX-L power supply

wow that case gets hot. Fans went crazy just doing basic tasks. The metal of the case was warm to touch after playing hitman for 30 minutes (had to turn it off due to fan noise)

Im going to go for a more traditional case with better airflow and fans. Really disappointed with this case

Look up Bitfenix Prodigy.
You can get the version that supports Micro ATX motherboards.

Alternatively, the Bitfenix Phenom is a similar case with an LED bar that changes colour.
>>
This pic's a bit old, I'm currently waiting on a waterblock for a GTX 1070

going to replace the fittings with all bitspower because i'm using spares i got from a kit

what should i get? aircooler or aio for i7 6700k oc in fractal define nano s

Silverstone SG05 here. Pretty happy with it. Kinda sucks I didn't get a modular PSU.

What's your budget and what's the tallest cooler the case can take?

If a Noctua D14/D15 or a be quiet Dark Rock Pro 3 cannot fit in the case, then go for a Corsair AIO cooler.

I now regret my super huge mATX build with a 270mmx290mmx340mm case.

I admire your build bro. No troll. I've got a 150w psu that I've been afraid to use with my 750 non-ti for a long time. You've just given me the courage to try it.

Gears of war is a game for real men.
>>
>>55900398
thanks bro. 4765t has a tdp of only 35w, so the max draw of the system is far less than 160w.

If you are afraid, you can buy a watt meter (which costs about 10euros) and see the power your system draws.

Just be careful of the temps of your picopsu.
>>
>>55901186
Tell me about this build

SFX generic 300w PSU
i5 2500k stock
Stock cooler
4GB DDR3 ram 1 stick
H61 motherboard Mini-ITX
1 case fan
1 SSD
GTX 750

I run games on it and it seems fine. Do you think my PSU is overly stressed out?
>>
>>55901274
You're fine. With a 300w psu, you have nothing to worry about.

I have a home server with another 4765t, 4 hdds @7200rpm, one ssd, 4 ddr3 dimms and an intel nic running 24/7 for 2 years at a flex atx 250w psu.
