Except they don't lol. You really need to research things before you open your mouth and sound like a retard.
First off, no one "puts" anything into your food. In order to raise a genetically modified crop, you need to first modify the DNA and then grow it. There is no such thing as a magic chemical that you can spray on food that modifies its DNA like you see in the movies, the best you can do is raise GM seeds. Also really gonna need some reputable (links to actual studies not grainy infographics) sources on the whole pacify thing.

You can't prove the non existence of something. Even the most fundamental laws of science, such as the law of gravity, are still theories in the sense that the proof of their existence is the lack (so far) of any evidence to the contrary, despite thousands of tests. So with GMOs it is the same thing. Despite thousands of test, there is still yet to be proof found of harmful side effects. It is beyond the expectations of science to expect a proof for a negative. Expecting GMOs to be unsafe is the same as expecting that gravity will stop one day for no reason.

All food is potentially harmful. GMOs, unlike naturally grown food can be modified to be larger, tastier, more fruitful (and as a result cheaper), resistant to certain weather and insects (making it safer since it doesn't need poisonous insecticide and cheaper due to lower costs) etc. By not eating it due to your fear of technology you cause yourself to become a Luddite.

Unless you have a time machine and regularly use it to procure foods from before the advent of agriculture, every single thing you have ever eaten has been genetically modified in some manner, either by selective breeding or more recently direct gene manipulation.

GMO hipsters are the worst because they bring their snob first world head up the ass attitude into the third world where those people CAN'T AFFORD to make that kind of toxic decision, and even when starving, won't accept the grain/food because it isn't up to their hipster standards, and then they die.

The problem with GMOs aren't that they are bad in themself, it's that fucking jewish companies that produce them (obviously talking about Monsanto) use them horribly. Instead of creating a resistant crop that would produce more food with less water, they just produce a crop that has as only special characteristic to be resistant to a certain type of pesticide which is produced by, guess who... Monsanto. As their fucking pesticide completely destroy the soil, farmers then can't grow anything else but monsanto crops and obviously, this crop is infertile, so they have to buy it again every year. Those crops are mainly used in Brazil and Africa, therefore it's safe to say that Monsanto is directly responsible for massive deforestation in Amazonia (because the soil becomes completely useless after being washed by their fucking stuff so they have to chop down trees to make more fields) and numerous famins in Africa, and they get away with it.
That's 99% of GMO market folks, and you wonder why GMOs get badmouthed. Well now you know.

does the genome of a food determine its nutrition?

he didn't say it was exactly the same thing. he said the results are the same, and that is true.

the results of selective breeding for color in a plant and simply genetically modifying a plant to produce that color are the same. the only reason you would consider genetic modification a problem is if you take issue with humans "playing god."

Probably not, learn from drugs.

Drugs humans found by accident are advisable.
Prominent examples:
>Cannabis
>Some idiot once burnt it and learned about its effects

>Shrooms
>Some idiot once harvested them and learned about the good and bad effects

>Cocaine
>Some idiot started chewing the leaves of the plant and noticed something happening to him

>LSD
>Found in a lab by accident, it's said to be the most easy to handle of all the acids

Now the bad ones:

>All acids that try to be LSD, like nbomes or "LSD p1", which isn't LSD at all
>They are known to fuck up people with them noticing way too late

>Speed
>Invented with the purpose in mind to stimulate

>Meth
>same as above

I'd say we have to learn from this.
Food we found in nature is good to go.
Food we try to fiddle with to have some effect we wish to see is probably not that good of an idea.

By the way: You are welcome if I saved your life or sanity.
I wish somebody in my sorroundings would've known this when I was new to it, but they didn't. I had to learn the hard way.

Humans are the closest thing to a god. We can do whatever we damn well please to this planet.

> implying out-of-control population isn't due to fundamentalists refusing to let people use contraceptives

Solving starvation is a step in the right direction of regional stability. We need to immediately follow it up with stuff like education, contraceptives, medicine, etc.

> implying mining uranium isn't just as bad

I agree with you on everything else, though. Recycling needs to get better.

You are fucking retarded with your equally retarded """"""""""""""""""""""""""analogies"""""""""""""""""""""

I hope to god you're trolling.

I'm going to assume you're trolling so I don't stroke out when you inevitably respond with "I'm not trolling"

> salting the fucking earth to extort poor countries
> taking a product that could be used to establish stability in poor regions and turning it into a weapon to hold stability ransom and prevent any foothold

My god, and I only hated them for the intellectual property bullshit they were doing. Fucking corporate terrorists.

He is an autism suvivor protecting his children from the same fate. wtf is wrong with that?

Well, since GMO is proprietary, we sould not even try eating it.

the press once hyped this, even:

apparently, the first plant with medicinal properties was approved in 2012 according to this:

You can use the seeds and crops FOR FREE amywhere in the world unless you own a big farm. There is literally no issue whatsoever and everyone who opposes this should be hanged.

breeding resistancy to the natural insecticide
>>
>>55890626
Nothing can be done about that. Whether we spray the shit with DDT or make them produce BT toxin is irrelevant.

The only thing that would stop that would be moving to large, sterile hydroponic greenhouses.
>>
>>55885899
This is like the "if we circumcise our kids in America they won't masturbate and be sinful degenerates!". I eat GMOs all the time, I'm circumcised, and I'm still a angry violent retard who jerks off 3 times a day. If the goal was to pacify me, it hasn't worked.

Yes but it's a discovery more than an invention.

Isn't the problem with GMOs that they're made resistant to pesticide and retard farmers use then use so much pesticide that it gets absorbed into the crop itself?
>>
>>55885623
>but protesters believe such genetically modified foods are bad for us and our planet

Isn't that the complete opposite, though? Wouldn't GMO be good for our immune system?

>Immune system target practice made up of inert viral shells cause autism
>They don't even have live viruses

If the polio and common cold vaccines gave you autism, then the actual diseases would to.

If big pharma was putting mercuryvor some shit in the syringes, we would know idiot.

Of course, since it can (and is) be manipulated to make us healthier

But the current leftists are worse than religious bigots from decades ago. They are against any new technology and improvement (other than their iphones) because "it's not natural!!! it has chemicalssss!!!".
>>
>>55886172
Honestly, having children starve to death isn't a reasonable method of reducing overpopulation. It isn't effective either since the starvation issue doesn't extend itself to the entire globe (people with access to the minimum amount of resources will just keep breading regardless of anything.)
>>

the problem with GMOs is that they are patented, if a GMO field polinizes my crops i can go bankrupt

GMO crops are supposed not to polinize non-GMO crops, however in the real world it doesn't always work, so you may have things like mutated hybrid (and useless cause mutation= dangerous) crops replacing normal farmers crops, which makes them lose money and potentially die cause this normal farmers are usually poor low classes of 3rld world countries

You people need to stop discussing what the magazines tell you to discuss and dig a little deeper, this whole thread is a useless mental jacking off of people that don't understand shit
>>
>>55890582
1) Not anywhere in the world
2) "Big farm" is a lose term that changes jurisdiction from jurisdiction
3) "Big farm" v.s Monsanto is like having an ant fight an elephant

And in any case is still creates a monopoly due to neighboring farms and polinization. GMO genetics are usually not recessive, which means i can't cross my own fucking crops cause i don't know if any of them is actually GMO.

This can lead to

a) I now can't cross my own fucking crops and have to buy new bunch of seeds every time, which completely fucks up what farming is, as i can't raise my product to be better generation after generation, all i can do is buy a whole fuck lot of seeds every season and pray they are as good as the last bunch or the quality of my products will decrease

b) I have to gamble my whole farm by crossing my own crops and risking some faggot vulture lawyer doing genetic tests on my crops and finding traces of GMO and suing the fuck out of me
